The property is situated in a small hamlet on the edge of the beautiful forest of Chizé, renowned for its flora and fauna, with the nearby river Boutonne affording fishing and riverside walks.
The hamlet is a two-minute drive from a small village providing all conveniences – pub-restaurant, grocers, butchers, bakery, newsagent/tobacconist, pharmacy, doctor, dentist, hairdresser, library, school, post office and bank – and is well served by local tradesmen.

It has easy access (approx 10kms) to the motorway network, and is roughly half-way between La Rochelle and Poitiers airports, both of which are about an hour away, and serve low-cost airlines. Bordeaux airport is approx 90 mins away.
Situated on the border between the departments of Deux-Sèvres and Charente-Maritime, in the region of Poitou-Charentes, this region is famous for having the most hours of sunshine throughout the whole of France, second only to the French Riviera, with lower annual rainfall than the Dordogne, for example.
